Partisan is a web application framework that targets the current challenges in participatory sensing. Foremost, the efficiency in collaboration and the organization and protection of data is currently infantile. Additionally, participants and organizers require a centralized location of data for protection and for accessibility to contributed data. Additionally, the tools and algorithms developed in each previous campaign becomes outdated and weakened from lack of reuse. Partisan advocates the reuse of code and improve visualization by centralizing multiple campaignsÆ efforts in providing their participants with useful feedback, results, and evaluations of their performance and data.
To meet these and other challenges, the campaign management framework must be extensible and maintainable. Partisan utilizes popular PHP frameworks: Symfony and Doctrine, to handle the web site, API, and access to the repositories. Additional technologies employed will be the authorization technology and other third party services to provide the participant and organizers a complete experience.
